My second Chrimbo party resulted in my favourite Christmas party outfit.
I blogged an inspiration outfit collage post with this H&M+ tulle skirt a few weeks ago and I'd been desperate to get mine out and wear it finally.
I felt like the fat sugar plum fairy in this, but the very glam version, god damn I love me a tulle skirt!
A lot of the items in this post that I'm wearing are either old or no longer available online but that doesn't mean you won't find them in your nearest store (apart from the New Look heels as I've had them for years), which brings me on to my next point; the tulle skirt from H&M+ has completely sold out. It probably breaks a lot of 'fashion rules' that fat girls are told, it's pink, it's puffy, it's all frou frou but it's sold out! Why? Because fat girls love fashion and want the same things our straight size friends have had for years! Yes, the tutu, frou frou skirt has been knocking about in straight sizes for ages (well at least since SJP was spotted hanging around on New York Streets in hers in SATC) but it's only been the last couple of years we've seen them trickle into plus size, especially in larger plus sizes, but we love them and when they do appear we're snapping them up super quickly, so retailers LISTEN!
Years ago, being able
to wear an outfit like this would've been impossible but with plus size
retailers really trying to nail mainstream trends now the impossible is
becoming more and more attainable. I'm not going to lie, we all know that in larger plus
sizes (UK size 26 and above) it's still very difficult but I honestly
believe we're slowly but surely getting there.
I can't wait to style this skirt up in some other ways, it's timeless, classic and absolutely beautiful and will be making many more outfit posts in the future!
