Evenin' Beauts!
As I mentioned to you not so long back in THIS post, I was thrilled when Scarlett & Jo who's beautiful pieces can be found in Evans, began extending their size range up to UK sizes 28, 30 and 32.
After they kindly offered to send me the dipped hem dress to play dress up in, Lucy also offered to send me a little bit of something else, something that I was ever so slightly wary of, a peplum dress.
Now, if you've been reading my blog for a while can you ever say you've ever seen me wear a peplum? Nope, you won't have and that's because I have a fear of them, they're far too close to the bodycon family for my liking and I'm not a fan of anything that's particularly fitted or bodycon like or something that may show my VBO*. When Lucy offered to send me a peplum dress I have to admit I was a little worried that I would hate it and that I'd have to either be brutally honest about it or just lie and I never want to lie to you guys. However when that beautiful little purple package arrived I was very pleasantly surprised to have been pushed right outside of my comfort zone....
Scarlett & Jo Monochrome Animal Print Peplum Dress (UK 32) - £45 Evans
Patent Mid Heel Court Shoes - George @ Asda (few years old)
What do you think? I'm so thrilled with it! Guys, I'm not going to lie, when I first saw this dress it pushed me so far out of my comfort zone I'd have been more comfortable sitting on burning on hot coals then putting it on, but I actually can't believe how much my thoughts have been changed on the whole peplum style because of this little gem! I love the shape it gives me, so much so I had to take a picture of the back and show off just how well the dress helps create the most amazing hourglass shape, amazingly I'm not even wearing shapewear! I'm wearing a UK size 32 and whilst it fits perfectly, the dress is stretchy enough to size down if you want a more snug fit. The dress has the most fantastic double lining and the little mesh insert at the neckline allows you to be a little bit sexy but modest enough to be able to pull it off as workwear. Honestly, I think I'm now a peplum convert!
If you're tempted, all Scarlett & Jo items currently have 20% off too so perfect opportunity to try whilst there's a cheeky little discount going on! I've got my eye on the teal one.
BIG LOVE
XOXOXOX
