Evenin' my loves!
Just thought I'd check in and let you know I'm still alive. You know me I do this disappearing thing from time to time, usually for a variety of reasons. I either haven't worn anything particularly exciting to show you, I've felt like a bag of dog vomit, I haven't been assed, have been working too much or a combination of all of these things. In this instance, it's the combination answer.
Bad news coming from Naomi HQ is that I've spent the bank holiday weekend more or less in complete solitude. This has been difficult for me because I'm usually a weekend warrior and don't stop; however this weekend has been very, very, very quiet. Good news, this has helped with budgeting for my trip to Plus North in Manchester in a couple of weeks.
*YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY*
I'm finally all booked up for the event and absolutely cannot wait to see all my fave blogger babes for an injection of fatshion fierceness. I'm also not sure if I'm meant to be telling you this and I'm pretty sure Mrs Beeb and Toni T will tell me off for broadcasting it but I'm modelling at the event too *Ssshhhhhhhhhh*. I'm carefully trying to watch my pennies and save them for an awesome weekend to come. It's proving VERY DIFFICULT!
Although my life has been particularly dull there have been some very exciting movements in the plus size clothing world, mainly in the name of new brand on the block Pink Clove. I heard about Pink Clove a short while ago when I was asked if I wanted to go along to a behind the scenes sneak peak. Unfortunately I couldn't get time off work to attend but as soon as I knew about the new cool kid coming to town I was eagerly awaiting a butchers at what it was going to bring us, needless to say I am definitely NOT disappointed.
Pink Clove in it's own words...
'...is home to a fantastic range of clothing in sizes 16-32.
Translating the latest influential trends from the catwalks Pink Clove
expertly designs to flatter the fuller figure. With trends constantly on
the move we want to keep you on board with our wide variety of the
latest fashions in evening and day wear. Our online store means you can
visit us whenever and wherever suits you, so style never has to stop!!'
The collection so far is small but oh so perfectly formed, I'm yet to buy from the brand but with some really unique pieces on offer at really affordable prices I'm pretty excited to get stuck in. With that said I currently have my eye on....
Blue Wrap Dress - £28 Pink Clove
Tiger Sweat Top - £22 Pink Clove
Tartan Skater Dress - £30 Pink Clove
I am so, so, so thrilled that there is a new brand out there that caters to us at the larger end of plus size, those of us size 26 and above, thank you Pink Clove, thank you! I'm really looking forward to what else the brand is going to bring us. Also have a wander over to The Wardrobe Challenge for a more in depth look at the new retailer.
Apart from the arising of new brands I've also noticed a new up and coming fashion staple slowly working it's way more and more into many retailers collections ready for Autumn/Winter 2013. We saw the Bomber Jacket trickle into Spring/Summer 2013 but I've spotted some fabulous ones waiting to be picked up this season which I'm very tempted to take the plunge and invest in, alas my lottery numbers haven't come up yet, so until then, look on longingly with me....
Leopard Print Bomber Jacket - £195 Anna Scholz
Denim Bomber Jacket - £48 ASOS Curve
...and my absolute favourite to the parade...
Sequin Bomber Jacket - £45 So Fabulous @ Very.co.uk
Right, so I think I'm now all rambled out, but I have to say I've really enjoyed this little update. I'm off now, so until I'm ready to come out of hiding I shall be sipping tea, cosied up with cushions and episodes of Breaking Bad, see ya soon beauties!
BIG LOVE
XOXOXOX
