Most Wanted: How To Wear Monochrome

Ello My Loves!

I was asked by Most Wanted (the lifestyle magazine c/o VoucherCodes.co.uk) if I would be interested in spending some money on some outfits to show you all! Now, come on, as if Naomi is going to say no to spending money and playing dress up! Of course I said yes and I also chose to play with the current monochrome trend which is currently EVERYWHERE!

I was given £80 to buy 3 or more items which I could style however I wanted in order to create 3 outfits which show my take on how to wear this trend for us plus size girlies and this is what I bought...

All of my items came to a grand total of £79.47! Not bad yeh? I had a 10% off code for H&M and there was also an offer on the ASOS Curve t-shirt, it pays to be a savvy shopper! Make sure you always keep your eyes out for discount codes and bargains, they can really make the difference.

The first outfit I put together was this little ankle boots, black skirt, stripey t-shirt combo. I absolutely love these ankle boots from New Look and a bargain at £15! Oh and I must warn you, there's a fat bird in horizontal stripes ahead, please avert your eyes if this offends you...

Black & White Stripe T-Shirt - £12.50 ASOS Curve (now £16)
Earrings - £1.79 H&M (£1.99 without discount)
Black Handbag - £17.99 H&M (£19.99 without discount)
Studded Ankle Boots - £15 New Look Wide Fit
Waterfall Jacket - New Look Inspire
Black Tulip Skirt - Yours Clothing
Paisley Net Tights - £6.30 Miss Difusa
Statement Necklace - Nicked from Miranda's House

Then there was the very casual, very basic look but I absolutely love it because it can be switched up in so many different ways, a pair of basic black jeggings, basic black t-shirt, black blazer and a play with different shoes and accessories and you've got a really versatile look, here's how I wore it for my 'casual monochrome'...

Black Jersey T-Shirt - £7.19 H&M+ (£7.99 without discount)
Earrings - £1.79 H&M (£1.99 without discount)
Black Handbag - £17.99 H&M (£19.99 without discount)
Black Denim Jeggings - £18 Simply Be
Blazer - So Fabulous - Very.com
White Pointy Flats - Dorothy Perkins
Star Print Scarf - Primark

And last but not least is my favourite look! Swing dresses are popping up all over the place at the moment, it's the new skater dress in my opinion. I was wary of them at first due to being rather busty and concerned that the high neckline on this dress would make me look out of proportion, but after putting it together with these fab Miss Difusa tights and heels I felt really glam and can't wait to wear this outfit for a night out, so simple but so cute, what do you think?

Colour Block Swing Dress - £25 ASOS Curve
Earrings - £1.79 H&M (£1.99 without discount)
Black Handbag - £17.99 H&M (£19.99 without discount)
Paisley Net Tights - £6.30 Miss Difusa
Black Suede Wedges - New Look Wide Fit

Anyway, these are just my little takes on how you can work plus size clothing to the latest trends and on a budget too! I really thought I'd struggle with this but I think I've done much better than I expected! I also think this is a great trend to work as I'm sure if you're anything like me, you've got a million black and white items in the back of your wardrobes to play with which you can breathe some new life into by just picking up one or two key pieces.

What do you reckon ladies? Which items would you go for? Which trends are you loving right now?

Big Love
